Hip Hip Hooray .... EMMA IS ONE TODAY !!!

A year ago today I was due to be induced as I was overdue and Brendan was due in to be in Townsville in a few days time. We dropped Mitchell off at my sisters house and headed to the hospital. I was very nervous and very excited.

Brendan on the other hand was very sick. He had come down with a bad case of tonsillitis ... But he was doing his best to be there for me. We arrived at the hospital and settled into a birthing suite ... Which was very nice and comfy.

The midwife placed a monitor on my belly so she could keep an eye on bub. She came back a little while later and was just about to start the process of inducing .... However when she had a feel of my belly she couldn't find the baby's head. Off she went to find a doctor and an ultrasound machine. We soon discovered that our baby was breach and an inducement was out of the question.

We had a few moments to decide where we wanted to go from here and we decided to go ahead with a c-section. Now I was really nervous and a tad sad .... This wasn't what I was expecting. It was a long wait before we could go into surgery. As I waited brendan went and saw a doctor to get some drugs to make him feel a little better ....

Finally around 5.00pm they started to prep me for surgery .... At 6.28pm my baby was born into this world ..... I waited eagerly to find out if it was a boy or a girl ...... And then the doctor said the words I had waited to hear for such a long time .....ITS A GIRL .... And she was perfect. .... Weighing in at a healthy 7pound 2ounces and measuring 46.5cm long.

My dream had come true ...... a girl to complete our family. Over the past year we have had our ups and downs, but i wouldn't change anything for the world. SHe is such a good baby, although very boistorous, assertive and adorable. She knows what she wants and there is no stopping her ....

We love you Emma Jane very, very muchly. HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY baby girl.

10 years today ...

oday 10 years ago i married my one true love ... The morning of our wedding i woke up to rain ... but that soon eased off to reveal a beautiful day ahead of me. Everything was ready to go, my dress was hanging up waiting for my hair and makeup to get done before I could slip into it. I loved my dress ... It was very girly and sparkly. The time came to hop in the car and make the trip to meet up with Brendan. We exchanged our vowels at a little wedding garden called Noelas Garden ... It was beautiful. we were running a little late as there was road works on our way there that we got held up in but I knew that Brendan would still be waiting for me. I was starting to feel a little nervous by the time we arrived but once I saw him waiting there for me ..... Everything seemed perfect. I will remember this day for the rest of my life.

I will also remember our 10th wedding anniversary .... Emma has a nasty chest infection and Mitchell came down with the chicken pox ..... What a way to celebrate our anniversary .....

A few pictures of our special day xoxoxo

i love you so much xoxoxox

Planning a first Birthday Party ....

I have been absent again for a while and i do apologise ...... life here has been hectic.

With only a little under 4 weeks until our baby girl turns ONE .... i have been busy planning an Afternoon Tea to celebrate her first birthday.

All my ideas and plans are slowly coming together ....
* a delicious pink rainbow cake
* some cute little pics of my baby girl
* yummy tea party food
* sweet little goody bags for the guests
* balloons and bunting
* pretty party hats
* family and friends to help celebrate ....

i am hoping that it will be an event for us to cherish together .... not that she will remember it, but i plan to document it into a little book for her, for when she gets older ....

i have also been working on some stock for my upcoming stall at the Bald Hills State School "All About Kids Market" this Sunday. if you live locally, you should pop in and say HI.

take care

Back at work .....

Boy did my holdiays go super fast ..... i had a restful week recharging my batteries and enjoying some quality time with Mitchell and Emma before the children came back into care.

So what did i do on my holdiays .... well i didn't take any photos as i kept forgetting to take my camera .... but we went to the movies, the markets, made home-made icecream, created our own lego men out of plaster, caught up with friends and just enjoyed each others company.

I also spent some time creating some items for my new lines ....

Homemade Yoghurt

Everytime i seem to buy yoghurt it all gets eaten rather quickly. And lets face it, yoghurt can be quite expensive. Mitchell likes the children yoghurt with all the wonderful cartoon characters on it, Brendan likes the tubs of yoghurt and Emma enjoys her baby yoghurt.

Recently whilst at my sisters house she introduced me to her Yoghurt maker. She was giving it such a good rap I just had to get my own.

I headed down to our local coles and picked one up for $21.99 plus $3.89 for a satchel of yoghurt mix. I choose the strawberry flavour to start with.

So yesterday afternoon i opened up my box, rinsed out the yoghurt maker and started to make my first batch of yoghurt. I couldn't believe how easy it was to make. All you needed to do was add the sachet of mix to some water and then place in it into the yoghurt container with some boiling water and leave for 8 -12 hours.

This morning we I opened it .... I have yoghurt :)

And guess what ... it even tastes like yoghurt.

Thank sis .... for introducing me to your Yoghurt Maker.
